Sojourner Coffee
A polished CBD specialty bar pouring a Colombian cold brew that tastes like a fruit plate — pineapple, white peach, blood orange — held back half a step by a bitter edge.
Singapore's CBD does not lack coffee, but most of it is fuel. Sojourner — the specialty concept from the team behind Huggs, one of the city's first specialty chains — is built as the opposite: a sculptural chrome-and-cream room off Raffles Place where the menu reads like a cellar list and the branding is as considered as the sourcing.
The brew

The cold brew was a Colombia Naranja Salsa — an orange bourbon lot from Oporapa — and cold, the fruit does the talking: pineapple up front, white peach through the middle, and a blood orange brightness on the finish that most cold brews can't touch. It's a fruit-forward, almost juicy glass, and a genuinely interesting choice of bean for the format.
It's decently smooth, with a little bitterness that shows up behind the fruit — enough to keep it out of the top tier, not enough to spoil the trip. At its best sips it's a 9; the edge averages it down.
The space
Chrome curves, cream stone, a broken-tile terrazzo floor, and a bar crew that moves like a kitchen brigade. It's a fifth-wave fit-out in a first-tier business district — more polish than coziness, which suits the clientele streaming through from Raffles Place.
The story
The branding deserves its own note: the forest-green cups, the compass mark, the menu typography — it's the rare shop where the design promises specialty and the sourcing (single origins from Colombia, Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea, plus two house blends) backs it up. Born from a team that's been doing Singapore specialty coffee since 2008, and it shows in the operation.
Verdict: 8/10 — a distinctive, fruit-driven cold brew in a beautiful room. Smooth out that bitter edge and this is a detour shop; as poured, it's a very good stop when you're in the CBD.
