Dose Café & Dram Bar
A relaxed Riverside Village neighborhood spot pouring cold brew on Counter Culture beans — an easy, dependable East Nashville glass.
A field note from the archive: this one comes from a January 2020 visit, back before this site existed — the photo survived, the detailed tasting memory didn't, so this review leans on the record and the reputation rather than pretending to notes I don't have.
The brew
Cold brew on Counter Culture beans — one of America's most consistent specialty roasters — served over ice in the shop's cleanly-branded cup. The photographic evidence shows a properly dark, properly full pour, and Counter Culture's program means the floor here is high. What I can say with certainty: it was good enough to photograph, and nothing about it registered as a warning.
The space
Dose's Riverside Village location is the neighborhood's living room — relaxed, local, full kitchen and bakery behind the counter, the East Nashville crowd treating it as a default. It's the kind of shop every neighborhood deserves and few get.
The story
A Nashville independent that grew from a Murphy Road original into the Riverside corner spot (now with a whiskey dram bar attached, because Nashville), serving a rotating Counter Culture selection year-round. Dependable over flashy — a philosophy you can taste.
Verdict: 8/10 — the archive says worth visiting, and East Nashville agrees. Next time through Nashville it gets the full treatment.
